"A child under the age of five, dies every 12 minutes in Yemen," Achim Steiner, a UNDP representative in Yemen, said in a tweet on his Twitter account.
"Most of them are dying as a result of lack of water, basic nutrition, health care and medicines due to the conflict," he added.
