Security forces in Mocha Directorate arrested a gang carrying out looting, smuggling and interruptions, the last of which was the looting of a locomotive loaded with foodstuffs.

The head of the Criminal Investigation Investigation Department in the West Coast of Bakeel al-Mansri said that the security department received a notification in late December stating that an armed gang had looted a locomotive between the Mudaraba and Ras al-Ara areas of Lahj governorate that was loaded with a bean shipment that belonged to a commercial house.

He added that the security department conducted investigations and collected information that led to the arrest of two members of the gang, which consisted of five people.

He pointed out that all members of the gang belong to the Al-Waziyah Directorate and take from the Bab Al-Mandab area a center for managing their criminal activities.

He stated that the security forces found the locomotive in the Al-Barh area, but it was empty of its payload of 1950 cartons of beans, after the gang members unloaded it and shipped it to other places.

He stressed that the security forces are conducting careful investigations to reach the rest of the suspects for arrest and investigation, as well as referring them to the competent authorities to try them for the crimes they committed.
