Ibn Daghr: Peace in Yemen goes through Aden

Adviser to the President of the Republic, Dr. Ahmed Obaid bin Dagher, said that peace in Yemen passes through Aden by implementing the Riyadh agreement.


Dr. bin Dagher - Head of the government side in the committee to follow up the implementation of the Riyadh agreement - during his meeting Thursday in the Saudi capital, the US ambassador to Yemen Christopher Henzel, stressed the importance that the Riyadh agreement represents to uniting efforts in the face of the Houthi militia and the Iranian project.


The adviser to the President of the Republic, in a statement posted on his official page on Facebook, stated that Iranian interference in Yemen and its continuous support for the Houthi coups with money and equipment, including ballistic missiles, that killed thousands of innocent civilians and destroyed homes, places of worship and security of the region, were one of the most important reasons for prolonging the war in Yemen Noting the last two terrorist operations carried out by the Houthi militia, targeting the Al-Nasr Mosque and the home of a member of the House of Representatives in Marib.

While praising the positions of the United States of America in support of Yemen at all levels, he called on the international community and in the forefront the United Nations to make all efforts to achieve a comprehensive and just peace based on the three references represented in the Gulf initiative and the outcomes of the national dialogue and UN Security Council Resolution 2216.


For his part, the American ambassador affirmed his country's support for the efforts exerted to implement the Riyadh agreement and move forward towards a comprehensive and just peace in Yemen according to the terms of reference of the agreed solution as well as its support for the unity, security and stability of Yemen.

Ambassador Henzel considered that the implementation of the Riyadh agreement serves the comprehensive political process and enables the Yemeni state to extend its authority over all lands.
