Dhamar, Newsyemen:

The Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, stormed a Salafist religious science center in Dhamar governorate, confiscating the building and looting its contents.

Local sources said that the Houthi militia stormed the "Al-Sabari Center for the Holy Quran and Islamic Sciences" located in Al-Manzil Street in the city of Dhamar, and took control of the building.

It added that the Houthi militia expelled the students of the center and those responsible for it, headed by Sheikh "Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Ansi", who moved to other areas including Ibb governorate, pointing to the confiscation of the center's library and replacing it with Shiite books and the lieutenant of the founder of the Houthi group.

According to the sources, the Houthi militia attacked the Al-Sabari Center under the pretext that the center's collaborators cooperated with loyalists of former President Ali Abdullah Saleh.

The Houthis previously controlled the Al-Shawkani Center for the Holy Quran and Islamic Sciences of the Salafis west of the city of Dhamar, looting its contents and displacing the scholars, and imposed an imam and preachers loyal to them. They also took control of Al-Ayyani Mosque, one of the largest Salafi mosques west of the city of Dhamar, and they arrested the imam and preacher of the mosque, Sheikh "Ali Rashid Ghanem Al-Musnaf", and transferred him to an unknown location for days, then released him after his commitment to leave the province.

It is worth noting that since the invasion of Dhamar Governorate in 2014, the Houthi militia has deliberately targeted the Salafi Group, despite the signing of a non-aggression document between the two parties, as the Houthis committed a series of attacks such as storming religious centers, confiscating property and homes, and arresting leaders.
