Aden / Mocha, Newsyemen:

The head of the government team in the Coordination Committee for Redeployment in Al-Hodeidah confirmed that the liaison officers did not return to the control points or the continuation of the government team to work, in light of the dangerous escalation of militias.

Major General Mohamed Aidah renewed the claim of the Hodeidah and UN envoy to Yemen with a clear stance "in order to save the Stockholm Agreement".

Major General Mohammed Aidah visited the Captain Hospital in Aden to check on the health of the liaison officer, Colonel / Mohamed Al-Sulaihi, who was wounded by a Houthi sniper at the City Max control point inside the city of Hodeidah on Wednesday, March 11, 2020.

The liaison officers from the joint forces withdrew from the five observation points in the city of Hodeidah after the terrorist attack with direct sniper and seriously wounded the Sulayhi officer in the head.

The militias later blew up the fifth observation post in City Max, east of Hodeidah, with dynamite.
Although the government team was asked, in an official statement on Thursday, to announce a clear position by the United Nations, the UN envoy, and the Redeployment Coordination Committee, none of this happened to date.

Griffiths last briefing and synchronization to the Security Council lacked any indication, as the militia pursued by bombing the observation point in Al-Alimi-City Max building, assaulting the joint forces soldiers at the adjacent site, and intensifying targeting, violations and escalation.

During the visit, the head of the government team expressed his strong condemnation and denunciation of the criminal attack by Al-Houthi militia on Colonel Al-Sulayhi, and said that he was preparing an attack on the international team supporting the ceasefire in Hodeidah in implementation of the Stockholm Agreement.

Stressing that this attack, is further evidence of the lack of seriousness of the Houthi militia in implementing the Sweden agreement, and at the same time reveals the extent of the violations committed daily, which affect the lives of civilians and also target the positions of the joint forces committed to the ceasefire.

Aidah called on the head of the Redeployment Coordination Committee in Hodeidah, General Abhijit Juha, and the UN envoy Martin Griffiths, to take a clear position on these criminal attacks in order to save the Stockholm Agreement.

Stressing that the government team cannot continue its work as long as there is no seriousness on the part of the militias in implementing the Stockholm Agreement for more than a year, and what the militias claim to implement from the agreement are nothing but scandalous plays.

It is worth noting that the liaison officer, Colonel Mohammed al-Sulayhi, was seriously wounded by a Houthi sniper last Wednesday while performing his duties as a member of the ceasefire monitoring team at the point in City Max in the city of Hodeidah.
