The Saudi-led coalition announced, on Tuesday, the interception and destruction of two remote booby-trapped boats launched by the Houthi militia from the Hodeidah governorate, west of Yemen.



"On Tuesday morning, the coalition naval forces detected an attempt by the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militia to carry out imminent hostile and terrorist action in the southern Red Sea by using two booby-trapped and remote boats, which were launched by the Houthi terrorist militia from Hodeidah Governorate," said coalition spokesman Colonel Turki al-Maliki. .


 He added that "the two boats were damaged and destroyed as they were a threat to regional and international security, maritime transport routes and international trade in the Bab al-Mandab strait and the southern Red Sea."


Al-Maliki emphasized that "the terrorist Houthi militia takes from Hodeidah Governorate a place to launch ballistic missiles, drones, booby-trapped and remote-operated boats, as well as randomly deploying sea mines in flagrant violation of international humanitarian law, as well as a violation of the provisions of the Stockholm Agreement and the Ceasefire Agreement in Hodeidah, where the number the booby-trapped boats and the remote walk that were detected and destroyed were 46, and the number of marine mines discovered and destroyed was 153 ".

 He stressed that "the leadership of the joint forces of the coalition continues to implement strict and deterrent measures against this terrorist militia, and to neutralize and destroy such capabilities that threaten regional and international security."
