On Wednesday, the army launched a large-scale offensive in the "Qaniya" front to regain a site that fell, on Tuesday, in the hands of the Houthi militia, and advanced towards Al-Wahabiya, a militia stronghold in Al-Bayda.

Field sources said that the clashes resumed on the Qaniyah front this afternoon, following a large-scale attack by military units and tribesmen on the Houthi militia sites, which are suffering due to its severe human losses during the past 24 hours.

It added, that the brigades from the Axis of Al-Bayda, with the support of the Popular Resistance, are seeking to restore the site of Al-Qutour, Al-Sufei Point, and part of the Al-Arja drug that fell yesterday by the Houthis.
This comes a day after a failed attack by the Houthi militia on the Qaniya front, which resulted in dozens of deaths and injuries in its ranks, in addition to more than 12 prisoners who fell in the hands of the government forces.

And local sources confirmed to "Newsyemen", that the field commander of the Houthi militias in the Qaniya front, Muhammad Al-Wadri, was killed along with dozens of Houthis during the large-scale attack he led, at dawn on Tuesday, at the Qaniyah front.

The sources said that al-Sarai al-Wadri, the commander of Qaniya storming, gave his orders to storm, but the government forces and tribesmen responded to the attack and the Houthi militia sustained dozens of dead and wounded.

"Newsyemen" sources indicated that the militia brought in armed groups from Amran governorate and from the districts of Anas and Al-Hada in Dhamar and Radaa district in Al-Bayda to reinforce its ranks in the "Qaniya" front.

It pointed out that al-Surya al-Wadri was an officer who was recently sent to Russia on a military scholarship, but he returned and became involved in the militias that sent him to the Qaniyah front where he was killed.

To that, military sources confirmed that the prominent field leader called Abu Radwan Al-Afad was among the prisoners who were in the hands of the government forces during the attack that cost the Houthis dozens of dead and wounded.

It explained that Al-Afad is the right arm of the commander of the so-called fourth military area for militias, called "Abu Nasr Al-Shaaf," who is currently assigned to lead the Houthi fronts in Al-Bayda.
