Tens of thousands today participated in the funeral of the majestic martyr brigadier general Adnan Al Hammadi, commander of the 35th Armored Brigade, in his hometown, Bani Hammad, Al-Mawaset Taiz Directorate.
The funeral procession was attended by the leaders of the local authority, headed by the governor of the governorate, Nabil Shamsan, the military leaders and leaders of the political parties in the governorate, delegations from the Southern Transitional Council, the Murad tribe from Marib, the sheikhs of Taiz, and a large crowd of citizens who had gathered since the early morning hours of all districts of Taiz.
The funeral procession was launched from Khalifa Hospital in the city of Al-Turbah, Shamayateen Directorate, and reached Al-Burkani area, where it was prayed, to continue on its way to the Ma’afir Directorate and then to Al-Mawaset Directorate, where he settled in Al-Ain, the birthplace of the martyr, to be buried there.
Brigadier General Adnan Muhammad Al-Hammadi, the commander of the 35th Armored Brigade, the owner of the first shot and the founder of the National Army, was assassinated by a cowardly operation inside his home on the second of last December, by his brother Jalal and his relative, the Islahi leader Mustafa Al-Hammadi.
In the context, Akram Al Hammadi, son of the martyr, demanded all honorable free men who will be hosting the martyr for the last time not to allow to bury his project with him and the cause that he was defending for them.
To that, the lawyer of the kin of the victim, Naguib Sharaf Al-Hajj, called for activating the role of popular control over the prosecution's practices and pressuring it to carry out its duty so that we will not be surprised in the coming days that the prosecution will restrict the crime to the detained persons only without the rest of the planners and the funders.
Al-Hajj said that the Public Prosecutor has exerted various pressures to bury the truth and bury the body of the martyr Al-Hammadi, stressing that the prosecution to this day is still procrastinating, idle, slack, and refraining from performing its duty to take any serious measures regarding summoning and seizing a number of big figures involved in the assassination of Al-Hammadi whose names were mentioned in investigations and in testimonies of witnesses.
Al-Hajj added that there is no justification for this inaction except to seek to bury the truth in its infancy and to obliterate the features of the crime and the impunity of the rest of the participants, financiers and planners.
Al-Hajj spoke that he has become suspicious of the prosecution’s seriousness, as its complacency and stance are very suspicious, confirming his belief that it will make every effort to bury the truth and distort the course of the case, as the prosecution has not yet taken any serious and promising action on the issue and turned a blind eye to dozens of requests submitted to it.
Al-Hajj indicated that the Public Prosecutor is weak and his concern throughout the past months was the urgency and urging to bury the body of the martyr, and they did not even dare to give the special prosecution team a copy of the case file and confiscated their right to that ?! wondering how he would have the nerve and courage to summon the corrupt involved in the crime despite repeated requests.
