Aden, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

September 21, 2014 is the day when the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, invaded the capital, Sanaa, and took control of state institutions by force of arms, in what it called the "September 21 Revolution".

The Houthi militia’s coup against government, on this date, marked the beginning of the biggest catastrophe that Yemen has suffered, as the militia caused a war approaching the completion of its sixth year.

The militia destroyed more than 800 homes, mosques and houses of the Qur’an, displaced more than two million Yemenis from their areas and villages, cut roads between cities and the countryside, and caused the national currency to decline more than three times.

The Houthi militia has also caused the closure of more than 3,000 projects, both small and large, and the prices of basic commodities and others more than threefold, not to mention cutting the salaries of state employees.

The "Newsyemen" channel, on YouTube, publishes a motion graphic video, reviewing the most prominent repercussions of "the catastrophe of September 21, 2014" and the high cost that Yemen is paying, following the Houthi coup, ending the democratic and multi-party process, disrupting state institutions and its administrative apparatus, in civil, security, and military sectors, and deepening the sense of separation among most segments of people.
