A report documents more than 8,000 violations by the militia on education in the capital, Sanaa, during a year

An official report revealed the increasing violations of the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, in the capital, Sanaa, against the educational process.

According to the report, during the six years since the militia’s takeover, the Houthis have practiced all forms of killing, starvation, destruction, torture, looting and completely disrupting life, specifically in Sana'a.

The report, issued by the Human Rights Office, revealed major violations by the Houthi militia, as it documented the Houthi militia's attacks on the right to education in the Capital Municipality, which amounted to about 8,140 violations during one year from the period (October 5, 2019 to October 4, 2020).


The report clarified that the Houthi militia’s violations of the right to education in the Capital Municipality centered on killings and deaths under torture, to dismissals and abuse of teachers, changing curricula, privatization of schools, and activities and activities that sectarianize education.

In the publicity event of the report, education between bulldozing and sectarianism, the report stated that the Houthi militia has gone beyond every description of crimes committed against the Yemeni people, including attacks on the educational process and teachers, calling on the concerned authorities, internally and externally, to stand seriously in front of these grave violations.

According to the report, the Houthi militia is working on a razing operation among schools, which is the recruitment of children, which caused the exit of two million children out of education.

According to the report, many parents fear for their children and their recruitment by the militia, which made them suffer hardship and fear that their children will go to school so that the militia will not attract them and push them to the front lines.
