Sanaa, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

Informed sources said that leaders of the Houthi militia, the Iranian arm in Yemen, are seeking to dismiss the governor of Ibb Governorate, which is under the militia's control, and to appoint a new governor for them.

The sources revealed to NewsYemen that Houthi leaders from Saada governorate have been proposing for more than two months the necessity of dismissing the governor of Abu Abdul Wahid Salah and appointing a new governor for the governorate, justifying their suggestion that Salah, despite his cooperation with the militias, is still a remnant of the regime of former President Ali Abdullah Saleh, and he is still a calculated leader the General People's Congress should cite the escalation of the leaders of the Sana'a Conference to Abdel Wahid Salah to the membership of the General Committee, which is the highest organizational authority in the General People's Congress.

According to the sources, other Houthi leaders opposed this proposition and indicated that Salah, despite his affiliation with the General People's Congress, is now managing the governorate according to the directives and directions of the Houthi militia and implementing all decisions and directives issued to him without any discussion, and that these leaders also proposed that in the event of insistence on  Salah dismissed and the appointment of a new governor. The appointed governor must be from the people of the governorate, similar to the Houthi governor’s appointment to Taiz Salim Al-Maghlis.

The sources pointed out that the Houthi leaders opposing the dismissal of the governor of Ibb have assured the Houthi leaders that any appointment of a new governor, especially if he is from outside the governorate, may confuse the stable conditions in August and contribute to the adoption by the leaders loyal to Salah stances against the militias and their orientations, pointing out that there is not yet  A Houthi figure from the province who enjoys political acceptance and popular weight can be appointed to the position of governor as an alternative to Salah.

The sources, who spoke to NewsYemen, concluded by saying that the Houthi leaders seeking to change the governor of Ibb aim to appoint a Houthi leader from the sons of Saada as governor of the province of Ibb in order to enable the militias to implement a policy of financial levies given the size of financial revenues that state institutions collect there, especially from the private sector, merchants and senior expatriates.
