The governor of the capital, Aden, Ahmed Hamed Lamlas, directed the security services in the governorate to prevent the former director of the General Postal Authority from traveling abroad until the inventory committees finish their work and find out the size of the financial deficit in the Aden Post account.

On Tuesday, the Governor of Lamels issued an administrative order to form inventory committees in all Aden General Post offices in order to determine the financial gap, cash deficit and embezzled funds, with the help of the governorate's finance office and the Central Agency for Control and Accounting.

Lamlas also submitted a memorandum to the Attorney General for the purpose of investigating these files, including financial corruption files and embezzlement cases estimated at hundreds of millions of riyals.

The Governor of the Capital called for holding accountable all those proven to be involved in these financial and administrative violations, and returning all embezzled funds, whether from government funds or the salaries of retirees and employees.

He urged the judicial and security agencies to quickly take legal measures to ensure that the corrupt persons involved in the crimes of embezzlement of public funds, as well as administrative and financial abuses, were taken to account, according to reports and files of the General Postal Authority in the capital, Aden.

Earlier, the governor of Aden issued a decision to dismiss the post manager, and appointed Lamia Saleh Ahmed Majour as his replacement, due to the deterioration of Aden Post services and the many complaints of beneficiaries.
