Al-Jawf, NewsYemen, Exclusive:

The sheikhs, notables, and members of the Al-Sayer tribes in Hadhramaut governorate are flocking to Al-Abr to hold intensive meetings to discuss the removal of illegal customs, which the Governor of Al-Jawf introduced to collect money within the district.

What was created by the so-called Duwaibi Customs from Al-Jawf Governorate within the Al-Abr District in Hadhramaut Governorate.

The people of the districts of Zamakh, Manoukh, Al-Abr, and Al-Hajar gathered to demand the implementation of the directives of the Governor of Hadhramaut, Commander of the Second Military Region, Major General Faraj Al-Bahsani, and the governor of the province for Valley and Desert Affairs Issam Al-Kathiri, and the Commander of the First Military Region, Major General Saleh Taimus, regarding the removal of what was called “Al-Duwaibi Customs” that provokes problems and undermines the calm and peace of Al-Abr Directorate.

An official source in the local authority in Hadhramaut denied news circulated by some local media about the removal of the so-called Duwaibi customs, confirming that what was published was incorrect.

The source said, "The people of Hadhramaut districts are constantly flocking to the Al-Abr directorate to study and discuss solutions and remedies for this problem, remove the introduction of Al-Duwaibi customs, and support the steps that have been taken in this regard.

In the context, the local leadership of the Transitional Council in Hadhramaut governorate expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the blatant encroachment by the governor of Al-Jawf governorate on the territory of Hadhramaut, by creating a customs checkpoint in the Duwaibi area in Al-Abr, and using it to collect money from passers-by on that road.

In a statement issued on Friday, she confirmed her support for the efforts and societal movements that reject this checkpoint, which blackmail citizens moving between desert areas, and forcing them to pay royalties.

The statement called on the local authority in the governorate to take a firm and swift stance against the ambitions of the cowards, who left their land and money for the Houthis, and headed towards Hadhramaut, thinking that it is a loose land, with no men to defend it.
