Brotherhood crews arrested Sheikh Fadl Al-Khamri in the Al-Hujaria area, south of Taiz, while 3 soldiers from Taiz police were killed and wounded in a traffic accident in Al-Maafer district.
Local sources told NewsYemen that a car carrying tomatoes and heading towards the city of Al-Nashma overturned as a result of the overloading at Wadi Al-Barkani point in the Al-Maafer district, in which members of the "rescue" patrols of Taiz security are stationed.
He pointed out that the car was coming from Al-Akhmour and overturned at a close distance from the turn leading to Al-Nashma, killing one soldier and wounding two other members of the point.
The sources indicated that crews belonging to the Brotherhood-affiliated rescue unit arrived in the area and arrested the driver, along with Sheikh Fadl al-Khamri, the most prominent sheikh of al-Hujaria, and transported them to the city of Taiz.
The sources expressed a severe state of dissatisfaction among the people of Al-Akhmour and Al-Hujaria, as a result of the arrest of Sheikh Fadl Al-Khamri, despite his absence at the scene of the accident, and the fact that the accident was purely traffic and does not bear any criminal suspicions.
The sources considered that the Muslim Brotherhood police used the incident in Wadi al-Berkani as an excuse to arrest Al-Khamri, because the driver of the car is a farmer from Al-Akhmur area, Al-Mawaset district, Taiz governorate.
