Aden, NewsYemen:

The Yemeni Ministry of Endowments and Guidance condemned the escalation of attacks and abuses carried out by the Houthi militia, backed by Iran, against worshipers in their areas of control in these days and the blessed nights of the holy month of Ramadan, and the transformation of God's homes into weapons stores and detention centers for those who contradict them in thought and belief.

In a statement issued on Friday, April 30, 2021 , the Ministry reviewed a number of abuses carried out by the Houthi militia, "which robbed many Yemeni cities by force of arms, and fights the establishment of the rituals of God in his homes, such as holding Tarawih prayers in the countryside, and partially preventing them from being held in cities," Through restrictions and harassment, and denying the Muslim his right to observe i'tikaaf and night prayers, leading to the closure of centers for memorizing the Holy Qur’an.

He said that these racist militias are striving with the power of arms to impose their superstitious visions and beliefs that contradict the pure Islamic belief of Yemenis, and to convert some mosques into qat-chewing diwans, entertainment and dance halls, stores of weapons and explosive devices, and detention centers for those who contradict them in thought and belief, and forcing people to listen to the sermons of the group’s leader. , His brother's lieutenant read.

The endowment statement confirmed that these terrorist attacks represent an extension of the series of previous violations and bombings that targeted many mosques and Holy Quran memorization centers in the explosive march of this militia, starting from the first years of the rebellion until today.

He considered these attacks and harassment by the Iranian Houthi militia as a flagrant challenge to the Universal Declaration of Human Rights that was adopted in 1948, which includes freedom of belief and religion, as well as the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, which was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1966, especially Article 18 thereof, With its four articles that stipulate the human right to worship, religion and belief.

The statement indicated that the systematic terrorist attacks that the Yemenis are subjected to practiced by these militias represents a targeting of the Yemeni identity and their right as Muslims to practice their rituals, with the aim of changing their moderate creed by force, and it is also an attack on the prevailing societal coexistence that the Yemenis have known before, and imposing a state of sectarianism from One party.

In its statement, the Ministry of Religious Endowments called upon all unions and scholarly and religious associations, chiefly Al-Azhar, the Islamic World Organization, the bodies of senior scholars, as well as human rights organizations, and all scholars, preachers, jurists and all philanthropists in all Islamic countries and countries of the world to condemn these attacks against their Yemeni brothers and their homes God, confront them and warn against these militias.
