Shabwa, NewsYemen, private:

Since the Brotherhood took control of Shabwa governorate in August of 2019, terrorist organizations’ activity has resumed in the governorate’s areas, after they were defeated by the elite forces that fought violent battles with extremist organizations, during which dozens of Shabwa Force soldiers were killed.

Terrorist organizations have returned to move freely in the province and carry out their operations against elite soldiers, excluding all Brotherhood forces.

The facts indicate that the Brotherhood authorities in the province used the terrorist organization in a semi-official manner to strike and threaten their opponents, as they did with the leadership of the Transitional Council in Hadhramaut governorate after they were arrested by a Brotherhood point in Bir Ali, where the commander of the point threatened to hand them over to al-Qaeda, according to the head of the Transitional Council in Hadhramaut Governorate.  Muhammad Jaafar bin Sheikh.

The threat of the Brotherhood forces to hand over the leadership of the Hadhramaut transitional confirms the close relationship between the organization and the Brotherhood authorities, and the reasons for the organization’s disregard for targeting the forces and fighting their authority, as it does in other southern regions.

A few days before that, the terrorist organization had kidnapped five criminal investigation officers in Khoura, and the Brotherhood authority did not move a finger about it.

According to the sources, the tribes of the kidnapped began to move for their release and sent mediation to Al-Qaeda to find out their demands for the release of their sons.

The sources confirmed that the terrorist organization asked the mediation committee to release a number of its members detained in Aden and Mukalla in exchange for the release of criminal investigation officers.

Private sources said that the kidnapping of the officers came in agreement with the Shabwa authority so that the organization could pressure them to release its members involved in terrorist operations in Aden and Hadramawt.

The writer "Saleh Ali Al-Dawil" spoke about what happened to Shabwa research officers, "When a relative of the Brotherhood leaders was kidnapped in Shabwa, their authority was stripped of a military campaign on the same day, and the head of its authority in Shabwa said: "The prestige of the state that was kidnapped, and we must restore it at any cost!!!  He said that when terrorism kidnapped five criminal investigation officers, why was the prestige of the state not kidnapped?

The growth of al-Qaeda and its receiving of support from the Brotherhood authority has become a real danger to other southern regions that are subjected to repeated attacks by the terrorist organization. It does not seem that these provinces will be stabilized unless Shabwa is cleansed of terrorism, drying up its sources and stopping its support.

The head of the South24 Center, Iyad Al-Shuaibi, believes that the return of terrorist organizations' activity to Shabwa confirms the need for the elite forces to return to the province and to support the southern forces in the fight against terrorism.

Al-Shuaibi, in his tweet, said that the escalation of al-Qaeda's movements in Shabwa requires a firm stance from the Saudi-led coalition.

Al-Shuaibi indicated that returning the Shabwani Elite Forces to Shabwa and supporting the southern forces to combat terrorism has become an option imposed by local, regional and international necessity, indicating "no to pragmatism with extremist and terrorist groups."
