On Monday, July 5, 2021, the forces of the Southern Giants and the Popular Resistance took control of the Al-Zaher district, in Al-Bayda Governorate (central Yemen), after three days of violent battles.

A large-scale attack launched by a joint force of the Giants Brigades and the local resistance against the Houthi militia, at the end of last week, managed to control most of the areas of "Al-Zaher", leading to the liberation of the district center.

Over the past three days, the joint forces fought fierce battles with the Houthi militia, during which they were able to tip the scales on the ground in favor of the popular resistance and inflict heavy losses on the Houthis.

The battles culminated at dawn today, Monday, with the incursion of forces from the giants, backed by tribal fighters from local tribes, as well as from Yafa tribesmen in Lahj Governorate (south) into the center of the "Al-Zaher" district and tightening control over it.

The people of the district, located to the west of the city of Al-Bayda, the capital of the province, were overwhelmed with joy, where activists circulated on social media, videos, showing the residents' celebrations of expelling the Houthi militia from their areas, after 6 years of occupation by force of arms.

In one of the clips - seen by NewsYemen's editor - the voices of women's ululations are heard from inside the houses, expressing the feelings of joy in the end of the bad Houthi era, and the defeat of the "sectarian" nightmare outside the Zaher district.

A tribal leader and leader in the resistance of the Hamiqan family had praised the pivotal role of the Southern Giants Brigades in liberating the "Al-Zaher" district in Al-Bayda Governorate.

Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-Humayqani appeared, in a video clip, speaking from the center of the directorate, after its complete liberation and the expulsion of the Houthi militia, at dawn today, Monday, stressing that they will not stop until the liberation of Kamel Al-Bayda.
