Sana'a, NewsYemen, private:

The results of the basic certificate exams, announced yesterday by the Houthi group in its areas of control, revealed the extent of the destruction of public education by the group.

The data of the first places students of the basic certificate announced by the group in its areas of control indicated that the majority of them are students of private schools.

Where private schools acquired the list of the first basic certificate announced by the Houthi group, which included 32 names of those who obtained the first to tenth bis.

The list shows that only 7 are students from public schools, and the remaining 25 were private school students, who topped the list from first to seventh.

Journalist Ashraf Al-Rifi commented on the list and considered it a "painful message" indicating that government education in Houthi-controlled areas is in a state of clinical death.

In his Facebook post, he said: The majority of the first students are from private schools, which is a negative indicator of the decline in public and free education amid the neglect of teachers and the educational sector in general, and the burdens the war has added to the education sector.

Al-Rifi pointed out that this situation will deprive many children of poor families (which are the most) opportunities for quality education and appropriate rehabilitation.

He stressed that education is the last bulwark to protect the country, and attention to it "starts with improving the conditions of teachers, rehabilitating schools and improving the teaching content in a way that suits the sciences, knowledge and technologies of the age," he said.
