The Houthis control the "Sawmaa" in Al-Bayda and are advancing in Bayhan, Shabwah

Military sources told NewsYemen that, on Wednesday, the Houthi militia took control of the center of the Al-Sawmaa district, in Al-Bayda governorate (central Yemen), in conjunction with its advance in the Bayhan district of the adjacent Shabwah governorate.

The sources added that the militia stormed this afternoon (Wednesday) the center of the directorate and seized the security department and the vocational institute.

It indicated that the commander of the Hazmieh Front, Abd Rabbo Nasser al-Raqabi, fled to the city of Marib, while the battles are still continuing on the front.

It stated that forces loyal to the Islah Party, the local branch of the Muslim Brotherhood, withdrew from the front, to the "Markha" district, and the resistance was limited to Salafi fighters.

According to the sources, the road that connects Al-Sawmaa district with Markha district in Shabwah, and Lawdar district in Abyan governorate, has effectively become under the control of the Houthis.

 Earlier today, the Houthi militia advanced in the Bayhan district and took control of new villages and areas.

According to NewsYemen's sources, the militia advanced and took control of villages and parts of the Nahr area without much resistance, from armed groups loyal to the Brotherhood and affiliated with the government forces.
