Biden appoints Stephen Fagin as US Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Yemen

US President Joe Biden on Wednesday appointed veteran diplomat Stephen Fagin as Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Yemen.

According to a White House statement, Stephen Fagin is a professional diplomat and most recently served as Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy, Baghdad, Iraq.

Fagin was the chief official at the US Consulate General in Erbil.  He also served as Director of the Bureau of Iranian Affairs in the State Department's Bureau of Near Eastern Affairs and as Director of the Bureau of Regional Affairs in the Bureau of South and Central Asian Affairs.
