The areas of the valley and desert of Hadhramaut governorate are witnessing an escalating popular movement to demand the departure of the forces of the first military region loyal to the Brotherhood and to enable the people of the governorate to manage the security and military file and to establish stability in their areas, which are witnessing an unprecedented insecurity.

In the city of Sayun, the largest in the valley, hundreds of demonstrators came out on Tuesday night, in a massive march that roamed a number of main streets to demand the completion of the implementation of the security and military aspect of the Riyadh Agreement and the replacement of new forces from the people of Hadhramaut to replace the military forces of the first region.

The demonstrators raised the flags of the south and settled in the Al-Qarn neighborhood near the headquarters of the first military region in Seiyun, amid chants demanding the departure of the forces and heading to the fighting fronts in order to fight the Houthis and leaving the tasks of imposing security and stability to the new Hadrami forces.

The escalating popular movements in the Hadhramaut valley and desert regions coincided with the arrival of a special committee from the Saudi capital, Riyadh, to meet with the leadership of the First Military Region.

According to preliminary information, the Special Committee, which arrived at Seiyun International Airport yesterday, includes the commander of the support force of the Arab coalition forces, Major General Sultan Al-Baqmi, as well as the head of the Yemeni Military Intelligence, Major General Ahmed Al-Yafei, and the Minister of Information, Muammar Al-Eryani.

The sources confirmed that the committee held a meeting with the commander of the first military region, Major General Saleh Tamis, and a number of military and security leaders, without referring to the topics that were discussed or raised.

The arrival of the committee and its meeting with the leaders of the First Military District prompted the media and activists of the Brotherhood’s Islah Party to publish tweets and publications on social media pages to attack the Southern Transitional Council, which supports the popular demonstrations calling for the departure of the forces of this region from Hadhramaut and the replacement of local forces from its people.

The reactions of the Southern Transitional Council came from a prominent leader, Ahmed Omar bin Farid, who called on the Presidential Leadership Council to respect the southern cause and its popularity and to head towards the real battle represented in the liberation of Sanaa.

The leader, Ibn Farid, clarified in a tweet he posted on his wall on Twitter that the success of the Presidential Leadership Council in managing all political, military and economic files is not domination over the south, but rather through its real battle in liberating Sanaa and dealing with the Houthis.

Ibn Farid added, "The south has its own political cause that requires it, at a minimum, to respect it and its popularity."
