On Friday, six major cities in Hadhramaut governorate, most notably Mukalla and Seiyun, witnessed massive mass activities, called for by the executive body of the local leadership of the Southern Transitional Council in the governorate, to commemorate Land Day, which coincides with the anniversary of the invasion of the south on July 7, 1994.

Thousands of people from Hadhramout and the south flocked to the squares of the cities of Mukalla, Ghail Bawazir, Al-Shihr, Seiyun, Tarim and Al-Qatan, to participate in the commemoration of this anniversary, raising the flags of the south and pictures of the member of the Presidential Leadership Council, the head of the Southern Transitional Council, Aidarous Al-Zubaidi.

Freedom Square in the city of Mukalla was crowded with thousands of citizens, who chanted slogans supporting the Transitional Council and rejecting attempts to tear the south apart and split the Hadhrami ranks by splitting the components.

During the event, the transitional head of Hadhramaut, Brigadier Saeed Ahmed Al-Muhammadi, pointed out the importance of commemorating this memory, to emphasize the persistence of the people of the south and their quest to complete the achievement of their goals of liberation, independence and the establishment of their fully sovereign southern state, reiterating the demands of the people of Hadhramaut to the brothers in the Arab coalition, to remove the forces of the Fist Military Region located in Wadi Hadhramaut, and replaced it with forces from the Hadrami elite.

Al-Muhammadi stressed that the people of the south will not deviate from their goals of liberating the valley, expelling the forces of the first region, and building their independent, civil, federal state, pointing to the awareness of the southerners that every success and every achievement achieved by the Transitional Council will face an attack from the enemies of the southern cause, whose conspiracies collided with the rock of southern steadfastness in The capital, Aden, devoted all their conspiratorial efforts against Hadramout, thinking that it was the weakest link in the southern project, he said.

He added, "The conspiracies of inciting the components and tickling the emotions of the simple people with the Autonomous Administration aim to separate Hadhramaut from its southern periphery, dismantle the Hadhramaut inclusive conference, which was agreed upon by the people of the province in general, and to disturb the unity of the Hadrami class, so that they can swallow Hadhramaut and annex it to their state as an alternative to the state they left for the Houthi.”

Al-Muhammadi warned the conspirators, and said, "We say it to them out loud that you missed the chance. Today you are playing in overtime, and outside your court.

Hadhramaut now has a military and security force, and there are men who are able to get you out of it with their heads down," calling on the deceived people of Hadhramaut not to stand in the way of the struggle of the people of the south and for them to come to their senses and abandon their narrow selfish interests.

In turn, the head of the Assistant Executive Committee of the Southern Transitional Council for the affairs of the districts of Hadhramaut Valley and Desert, Muhammad Abdul-Malik Al-Zubaidi, confirmed, in his speech at the Tarim Festival,  that the voice of those gathered tonight in the squares is the voice that expresses the people of Hadramout and that the blood of the martyrs of Hadramout and the south will not be wasted, and that whoever is in power will not be able to exploit his influence and revive parties that were and still are partners in killing and plundering the wealth of the southern land, and displacing and torturing hundreds of our people, and they will not be able to impose their conditions on us against the will of the people.

Al-Zubaidi said that Hadramout is an essential part of the federal south of Arabia, and no force on earth will be able to force the southern people to deviate from their decision to restore their land, identity and history. Stressing that this goal will inevitably be achieved, and that the people in Hadhramout and the south are all behind the political leadership of the Council, represented by President Aidaroos Al-Zubaidi and his deputies.

In Seiyun, the head of the executive body of the local leadership of the Southern Transitional Council in the Seiyun district, Abd al-Rahman Muhammad al-Jafri, indicated that the south witnessed a number of achievements and historical events, most notably the convening of the Southern Consultative Dialogue Conference in the capital, Aden, from which emerged the preparation and signing of the Southern National Charter and keeping the door open for dialogue to accommodate all the political and social spectrums are in true partnership.

The Chairman of the Executive Committee explained that what is happening in the past days and the movements is a departure from the Hadrami consensus by announcing the so-called Hadhramaut National Council, which coincided with Rashad Al-Alimi’s visit to Mukalla, and this is a blatant challenge against the will of the people and their abuse by the war of deliberate services in the disruption of the citizens’ lives, stressing: We are on the path of the martyrs, continuing our struggle to restore the southern state, liberate the rest of the southern lands, and assign the Hadrami Elite Forces the task of controlling all parts of Hadhramaut.

While a member of the Southern National Assembly, Zahraa Abdo, confirmed that Hadhramaut wants self-administration to be governed by its people and the expansion of the Hadrami Elite Forces in all parts of Hadhramaut, calling for speedy restructuring and employment of graduates and cadres.

She touched on the incident of shooting at crowds by unknown masked men, and considered it a summer cloud that will increase enthusiasm and struggle until the restoration of the state and the liberation of the southern lands.

Shabwa Governorate also participated in the Tarim Festival, represented by the Vice-Chairman of the Executive Authority of the Transitional Council in the governorate, Brother Aqil Bahmeed, who emphasized in his speech the unity of the southern ranks. Pointing out that the participation of the people of Tarim and Hadhramaut in commemorating this day is nothing but a sincere expression of southern cohesion and unity of destiny and goal.

The activities of Land Day in the cities of Hadhramaut issued a political statement, warning against efforts to recycle the Yemeni consumable tools that were the cause of the suffering of the people of Hadhramaut in particular and the south in general, calling on the leadership of the Southern Transitional Council to re-evaluate the issue of the feasibility of partnership in the parity government, since the bet was on improving the level of services provided to the people, and nothing was achieved from it, rather the suffering of our people increased and their living conditions worsened, and the government did not take any initiative to improve them.
