Aden, Newsyemen:

The United Nations Humanitarian Coordinator said that more than 2000 families were displaced from their homes in Al-Jawf Governorate during the first week of March.

In a statement to her office in Yemen, Al-Mansakih explained, that 75% of these families were displaced to Marib Governorate to escape armed clashes in Al-Jawf.

The UN Humanitarian Coordinator reported that, thanks to donor support, humanitarian partners in Yemen continue to provide displaced people with life-saving emergency assistance.

The displacement of citizens from al-Jawf came after the Houthi militia - the Iranian arm in Yemen - stormed and seized control of the provincial center and district of al-Ghail after fierce battles with the army units of the Sharia.

The Coordinator said in the latest report on the humanitarian situation in Yemen, issued last Thursday, that the Humanitarian Fund for Yemen managed, along with 54 humanitarian partners, to reach more than 11 million people, through 154 life-saving projects in 2019.
