Abdul Rahim Saleh al-Aqili was reportedly assigned commander of the 153rd Brigade to succeed his brother Mohammed Saleh al-Aqili, who spent a few days in the Abyan confrontations.

This is the third brother at the head of the said brigade, 153, led by Ahmed Saleh al-Aqili, who was martyred in the Nata'a front during confrontations with Houthi militias, to be succeeded by the second brother, Mohammed Saleh al-Mentali, before succeeding the third brother, Abdul Rahim, recently.

The appointment or new assignment of the third brother provoked both bitter and sarcastic criticism and comments about the adoption of a policy of "family inheritance" in military units and brigades of the so-called National Front.

But also, activist Riad Hussein comments, "For the record, the three brothers were never in the military, and their only loyalty to Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar."

The situation in the (family) brigade at the command level highlights the way in which commanders are appointed in army brigades and military units, particularly in Al-Bayda, where party or personal loyalty and the organizational identity of reform are often taken as a bridge to the head and command of brigades.

It also recalls the irony of slogans raised by the Brotherhood during the 2011 chaos and targeted the Yemeni military and military on the grounds that it was a "family army" associated with the slogan "inheritance."
