Griffiths and the Egyptian Foreign Minister discuss efforts to solve the Yemeni crisis

The United Nations Special Envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths discussed, on Sunday, in Cairo with the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sameh Shoukry, the latest developments in the situation in Yemen.

The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated in a tweet on "Twitter" that the meeting also discussed ways to support efforts to reach a comprehensive and sustainable political solution to the Yemeni crisis.

Griffiths arrived last night in Cairo on a several-day visit, during which he will meet with a number of Egyptian and Arab League officials as part of his efforts to mobilize regional support for his peace plan in Yemen.

The Special Envoy to Yemen has recently intensified his international and regional rounds and meetings with various Yemeni parties, to discuss ways to reach a political solution to the crisis that has been going on for more than six years.
