The US State Department said, Wednesday, that the permanent solution in Yemen begins with stopping the Houthi militia's attacks on Marib.
The US State Department added that the UN envoys Martin Griffiths, the American Tim Lenderking and the Security Council are unanimous that the solution in Yemen begins with stopping the Marib attacks.
On Wednesday, the UN envoy to Yemen, Martin Griffiths, announced the failure of the last round of consultations without reaching a ceasefire agreement in the country.
Griffiths’s office said, in a statement, "The Special Envoy of the United Nations Secretary-General to Yemen, Martin Griffiths, concluded today (Wednesday) a week-long round of meetings with a group of Yemeni, regional and international stakeholders in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman."
The UN envoy expressed his regret that no agreement was reached between the Yemeni parties in the consultations that took place during the past days on measures that would "provide an environment conducive to the resumption of a political process that includes everyone and ends the conflict in Yemen in a comprehensive manner."
