The cities of Hadhramaut Valley, southeast of Yemen, have witnessed a comprehensive civil disobedience since Sunday morning, in protest against the significant increase in the prices of oil derivatives, the collapse of the national currency, and the accompanying deterioration in living conditions and a significant increase in prices.

Shops, exchange companies, banks, and a number of government institutions closed their doors, in response to the call of the preparatory committee for the escalating program of the Southern Transitional Council.

The cities of Hadramawt Valley, especially Sayun and Qattan, which are under the control of the "Brotherhood" forces, are witnessing popular upheaval with the deteriorating economic conditions and the increase in fuel prices, in addition to frequent power outages, high prices of basic foodstuffs, and irregular payment of salaries for state and army employees.

Last Friday, a protest march took place on motorbikes, in the city of Seiyun, in opposition to the convening of the House of Representatives, as well as the presence of the Brotherhood militia represented in the First Military District loyal to General Ali Mohsen al-Ahmar, in Wadi Hadhramaut.
