An engineer was killed and another injured by shrapnel from a hand grenade in the city of Taiz

A watch engineer was killed and another civilian was wounded by shrapnel of a hand grenade thrown by unidentified gunmen at a pharmacy, late yesterday, Wednesday, in the city of Taiz in central Yemen.

A local source told (Newsyemen) that unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle threw a grenade (type of shrapnel) at Al-Tahrir Pharma Pharmacy, yesterday evening, Wednesday, next to the Asia Hotel in Al-Tahrir Street in the center of Taiz.

The grenade explosion resulted in the killing of the watch engineer, Abd al-Quddus Abdo Ghaleb al-Absi, as he was passing in front of the pharmacy at the moment of the accident, and another person was seriously injured, in addition to the collapse of the pharmacy’s glass facades.

The source attributed the cause of the problem to the pharmacy owner's dispute with an armed gang, and confirmed that the security forces arrested, this morning, Thursday morning, one of the suspects in the grenade incident.
