The displaced are the most affected.. Heavy rains sweeping most of the Yemeni governorates

The heavy rains witnessed by most of the Yemeni governorates caused great material damage, especially in the camps for the displaced, amid warnings to citizens and travelers of the need to take precautions and beware of torrential rains.

According to the Executive Unit for the Displaced, 89% of the displaced in Marib camps live in worn-out tents and tents, and they need urgent assistance to protect them from torrential rains and seasonal rains.

 Local sources said: Heavy rains accompanied by winds hit separate areas of Ma'rib Governorate, causing material damage in light of the torrential torrential rains that formed from the abundance of rain.

20 displaced families in Al-Jawf Governorate were completely affected in Al-Habal camp in the Khub Washa`af district, while dozens of families were partially affected by the rains that dropped tents and destroyed foodstuffs and bedding on Friday/Saturday evening.

 Great damage in Taiz

In Taiz, traffic stopped on the city lines due to the flow of torrential rains, which caused severe damage to the roads and prevented cars from crossing for more than 3 hours.

Traffic was cut off on main streets, most notably Sina, Bir Pasha, Al-Tahrir Street, and Osaifra.  In the Al-Hasab area, a transport bus was involved in a traffic accident due to heavy rains, and it fell into a pit, causing it to overturn without causing any casualties.

The NewsYemen correspondent said that citizens, including women, were rescued after they were swept away by torrential rains on Al-Markazi Street, the intersection of Jamal Street in the city center, while dozens of cars broke down while they were driving at the time of the rain, and drivers remained stuck in the streets for more than two hours.

A NewsYemen reporter also monitored street vendors losing their goods as a result of sudden rains and heavy torrential flows for the first time in months.

According to residents and vehicle drivers, the movement also stopped in the fog line - the western exit of the governorate - due to rain and torrential rains.

Residents issued warnings to motorists against passing through the damaged roads that are threatened by torrential rains, in order to avoid human and material losses, most notably the roads of Jabal Habashi and Al-Aqrod in saber .

 Houses damaged

According to preliminary statistics of the Mudhaffar district, the rains caused damage to 6 houses in Al-Baarara and Al-Arbaeen, 3 houses in Wadi Al-Qadi, 4 houses in Sina and a house in the Akmat Al-Bir neighborhood, as well as dust residues in some streets and roads within the district.

On Saturday evening, the governor of Taiz Governorate, Nabil Shamsan, instructed the directors of the districts: Al-Muzaffar, Al-Qahirah, and Salah, to go to the field, inspect the damage caused by rain and torrential rains, and make the necessary remedies for those affected.

Rain and rockslides

 And in the Shabwa governorate, the sources stated that the Directorate of Markah Al-Alia also witnessed heavy rains in the areas of Sha`b Athmaalman, to Bahul, to Maqwah, Mukhashiba, Dhalam, Lijah, Amhsin, Amfari, Muhanka, and Naqbah, all the way to the Rus of Halhal.

Our correspondent monitored landslides in Sailat al-Qabitah, which is administratively affiliated to Lahj Governorate, and large rocks collapsed from the heights overlooking the road.

The city of Yarim in Ibb governorate witnessed rockslides, as a result of the heavy rains that the governorate witnessed during the past hours, due to the heavy rains that the city witnessed.

Eyewitnesses said that the heavy rains in the city of Yarim caused rockslides in the "Al-Trakhm" fort in the "Khao" area.  They added that large boulders rolled near the homes of citizens in a number of neighborhoods, while they did not cause any casualties.

Continuing warnings

The National Center of Meteorology expected thunderstorms to continue in large parts of the governorates: Saada, Hajjah, Al-Mahweet, Amran, Sana'a, Dhamar, Raymah, Al-Dhalea, Al-Bayda, Ibb, Taiz, Lahj and Abyan, during the next 24 hours.

The Meteorological Center warned citizens in areas where rain is expected from being in the streams of torrents and valleys, and drivers on mountain slopes against a decrease in the horizontal visibility due to rain and the formation of fog or water rusk.
