Aden, NewsYemen, exclusive:

The electricity crisis escalated in the capital, Aden, with diesel stations running out of fuel, amid complete disregard by the government to prevent a complete stoppage of service.

Sources at the Aden Electricity Corporation warned of a complete stoppage of the diesel fuel stations in the coming hours, about a week after the PetroMasila station stopped due to the depletion of the crude oil fuel in which the station operates.

The sources said that stopping the diesel stations will lead to a decrease in the generation volume to 70 megawatts only, which is the production of the government stations of Al-Hiswa and Mansoura, which run on diesel fuel, which is also about to run out, while the loads increased to 390 megawatts.

It emphasized that the government has been ignoring a week ago the appeal made by the Electricity Corporation to quickly provide diesel fuel, diesel fuel and crude oil to power stations, to prevent a complete cessation of service, and to receive the month of Ramadan in complete darkness.

The media official of the Foundation, Nawar Abkar, spoke in a post on Facebook about the existence of a "party" - which he did not name - that aims to push the people to reach a boiling point and clash with the local authority and security services in the blessed month of Ramadan, after entering Aden in complete darkness and a complete shutdown of power stations.  Stressing that "this party itself is the one who holds the solution."

Earlier, and in an exclusive statement to "Newsyemen", he explained that the stoppage of the PetroMasila station's supply of crude oil fuel from the production fields in Shabwa came due to the presence of financial dues to PetroMasila with the government that were not paid to it, which prompted the company to stop transporting oil to the station.

He denied what was circulated recently regarding the relationship of the halt in supplying the station with oil to the Houthi group's arrest of businessman Sheikh "Abdullah Ahmed Al-Huthili", the general manager of Al-Huthili Transport and Oil Field Services Company from his home in Sana'a, and that this was because his company transported crude oil fuel to the station in Aden.

The media official of the Aden Electricity Corporation, indicated that the corporation's team is continuing to complete the transportation and drainage project for the PetroMasila station, which will work on entering the station with a total capacity of 264 megawatts.

He said that the team is currently working on connecting switches inside the three transfer stations, which are Khormaksar station, Al-Shaab station, and the ninety junction station, pointing out that this will take more time.
