Aden, NewsYemen, exclusive:

A statement issued by the Yemeni government regarding the details of its spending on the electricity sector increased the state of division between the forces of legitimacy within the framework of the Presidential Leadership Council, which was formed on April 7, 2022, with the participation of the forces on the ground.

The government's statement attributed to an "official source" came in response to the decision of the Minister of State, Governor of the capital, Ahmed Lamlas, to stop the supply of the governorate's revenues to the Central Bank of Yemen, and his statements that justified this decision by "the government's inaction and its evasion of its obligations regarding projects to improve services, especially the electricity service."

The government statement included phrases that southern activists considered a provocation and a denial of the role of the southern governorates' resources in running the government's work during the past years and enabling it to fulfill its obligations regarding the salaries of public sector employees in the liberated governorates and areas.

One of the most prominent statements that provoked the southern street was the government’s claim that “the crude oil allocated to operate the PetroMasila station in Aden (which is estimated to be worth between 400-600 thousand dollars per day, according to global crude oil prices), and 80 percent of it is supplied from the production fields in Marib.” .

The southerners accused the government of lying and fraud with regard to this paragraph, and the director of the Media Center for the Giants' Brigades, Aseel Al-Saqladi, confirmed that the crude oil that operates the Petromsila station in Aden comes from Shabwa governorate.

While the southern lawyer and activist, Ali Nasser al-Awlaki, said, "The corrupt Maeen government, in its meager statement, says that the crude oil that operates the PetroMasila station in Aden comes from Marib, and this is not true. Terrorists, booby-traps and exporting chaos, there is no need for lies and fallacies."

As for the journalist Saeed Bakran, he pointed out that this paragraph is false and pathetic, and he said, "The truth simply says that the Safer refinery is fed from Sector 5 of Wadi Jannah, Bayhan, Shabwa. Except for the oil that is transported by locomotives from the Al-Aqla field, Shabwa, to Marib."

On the other hand, the activists of the Islah Party took advantage of the attack on the Southern Transitional Council due to its position in support of the decision of the governor of the capital, Aden, and to show that Marib, which is under their control, is credited with providing electricity to the residents of Aden.

These activists praised the Ma'rib government, which has so far refused to supply the governorate's revenues to the Central Bank of Yemen in the capital, Aden, as is the case with the rest of the governorates, considering this paragraph, despite its falsity, as evidenced by evidence, an affirmation of the greatness of what Ma'rib offers to the southern governorates, as they claim.
