PM: Houthis use civilians as human shields in al-Hodaidah
English - Wednesday 28 November 2018 الساعة 08:50 amPrime Minister Maeen Abdulmalik said on Monday in the interim capital Aden that the Houthi militias control al-Hodaidah city, use civilians as human shields and deprive them of humanitarian aid.
During his meeting with the United Nations humanitarian coordinator for Yemen Ms Lise Grande, the premier said that the militias sell the international aid under the pretext of supporting war effort so as to achieve material gain and enrich their leaders.
The meeting with the UN official discussed the humanitarian efforts and projects of the United Nations in Yemen, as well as the situation in al-Hodaidah city that she had visit the city in accompanying with the UN envoy for Yemen on Friday.
The Prime Minister called on the United Nations and international organizations to open their offices in the interim capital Aden so that they can work freely and easily.
He added that this will ensure that international organizations deliver their projects and supplies to the Yemeni people war-affected in all provinces in the country.
