The spokesperson for the joint forces on the western coast of Yemen, Waddah Al-Dubeish, confirmed, Wednesday, the request of the Swedish and Swiss governments of their nationals working in international organizations, as well as those within the team of the UN Monitoring Committee to implement the provisions of the Stockholm Agreement in Hodeidah Governorate, to leave Yemen, specifically those working in Governorates and areas under the control of the Houthi militia.

Al-Dubeish said, in a statement to "Erm News" that the number of diplomats working in the United Nations team, who hold Swedish and Swiss citizenship, amounted to 20 people, and they were all asked to leave the country.

Al-Dubeish attributed the reason for that request to: “The arbitrary practices and bad treatment pursued by the Houthi militia towards foreign scholarships within United Nations teams or international organizations, the last of which was preventing 3 members of the international mission supervising the Sweden agreement in Al-Hodeidah Governorate from entering Sanaa, last Thursday. ”

Al-Dubeish pointed out that: “The Swedish and Swiss governments have sent very strong messages to the UN envoy to Yemen Martin Griffiths, which holds him responsible for the safety and security of their diplomatic subjects.”

According to Al-Dubeish, during the next two days, a special plane will be arranged to return the Swedish and Swiss diplomats to their countries.

A spokesman for the West Coast forces revealed that the Houthi militia is exercising a policy of pressure against the international team monitoring the implementation of the Sweden agreement, as they are almost all being held and held hostage aboard the United Nations ship anchored in the international waters of the Red Sea, where they are prevented from moving or leaving according to the records and agreements.

Al-Dabeish renewed his demand for the United Nations to make a real effort to end the war in Yemen, and to do so above all “change its envoy Martin Griffiths, who has become an obstacle and a stumbling block to the implementation of the provisions of their consummation agreement, through his dependence on behalf of the Houthi militia.”
