The military police chief survived an assassination attempt in the northern city of Taiz

The military police chief in Taiz Governorate survived an assassination attempt by masked gunmen riding a motorcycle, this afternoon, Friday, north of the city of Taiz, central Yemen.


A security source said that the commander of the military police in Taiz, Brigadier General Mohammed Al-Khawlani, survived an assassination attempt by gunmen riding a motorcycle, and his personal companion was wounded, on Friday, near Al-Saeed Mosque in Asifra area, north of Taiz city.

The source pointed out that clashes erupted between the guard of the military police chief and some of the gunmen, who were remarkably close to the scene of the assassination attempt on al-Khawlani, and these clashes resulted in the injury of an armed man.


It is noteworthy that Brigadier General Mohamed Salem Al-Khawlani was appointed two months ago as Commander of the Military Police Force in Taiz in place of Brigadier Jamal Al-Shamiri, and Al-Khulani belongs to the Islah party, the branch of the Muslim Brotherhood in Yemen.
