Lahj, NewsYemen:

A prisoner exchange deal between the southern forces and the Iranian arm succeeded in releasing fifteen prisoners from both sides, in the Al-Qabaita region, north of Lahj governorate.

Military sources said that a deal through tribal intermediaries from both sides took place at the Al-Sabihah Haifan and Irim front, which is affiliated with the Hajj, and included a process of exchanging southern prisoners with Houthi militia prisoners.

According to the sources, the leadership of the Fourth Brigade released ten prisoners from the ranks of Iran's arm, while the militias released five prisoners of the southern resistance.

The Fourth Brigade Hazm said that the deal followed many promises by the Houthi militias to complete the exchange process, which they failed to do every time, explaining that the freed prisoners had been captured by militias on the southern border of Saudi Arabia nearly a year and a half ago.

It indicated that the exchange process took place after months of coordination, as a result of excluding the released prisoners from the recent exchange process conducted by the legitimacy with the Houthis through the International Red Cross.

It is expected that there will be other prisoner exchange deals by the two sides after the successful completion of this process, according to the statement of the Fourth Hazm Brigade, led by Brigadier General Wafi Al-Ghabas.
