Sanaa, NewsYemen:

The Houthi militia, Iran's arm in the country, has appointed an accused of corruption as the Minister of Water and Environment in its government, succeeding another that it dismissed, claiming that it was due to corruption.

Last November, the Houthi Anti-Corruption Commission arrested Abdul Raqeeb Abdul Rahman Al-Sharmani, director of the Water and Sanitation Projects Unit in urban cities, on charges of corruption, as it said that he was accused of corruption related to projects funded by international organizations, and then announced on December 19 his appointment as Minister of Water and Environment in the government of the coup.

Activists criticized the decision of the Houthi militia, and accused "Ahmed Hamed" of corruption, who is the director of the office of Mahdi Al-Mashat, head of what is known as the Political Council.

Activist Muhammad Awweesh said: They accuse him of corruption, and after days they return to appoint him a minister, "This is total madness ."

Ahmed Al-Houthi political supporter said, commenting on the decision: A month ago he was suspended from the Public Authority for Combating Corruption ... Today they appoint him as a minister .. !!  If this is not a recycling of waste and disdain for the country and the citizen ... then how can the recycling be and how is contempt ?!

In addition, the activist Adnan Yahya Othman revealed that the director of the Al-Mashat office protects the corrupt, pointing out that the director general of the oil company in Dhamar and Sanaa, who became the deputy of the oil minister, Yasser Al-Wahidi, was accused of corruption and his files swelled until it was about to explode.

He added: Corruption files were opened before the judiciary and decisions were issued to arrest him, but the Presidency of the Republic and the Office of its Supreme Director protected the accused and did not implement the orders of the judiciary, but rather they rewarded the accused of corruption and appointed him deputy to the Minister of Oil.

He continued: If we were in a country where there is a respectable and respected law and order, all those involved in this crime would have been dismissed immediately, regardless of the excuses.

Documents of the Public Prosecution Office, which were viewed by "NewsYemen", indicate that Al-Wahdi is accused of seizing public money.

Othman said that the director of the Al-Mashat office does not have the competence, capabilities, experience, or skills to control and manage the entire government administrative file. Rather, it is wherever a solution provides an opportunity for the old corrupt lobbies and lobbies to exercise tampering and destruction in his name and influence.

The campaign prompted the director of the Al-Mashat office, Ahmed Hamid, who accused him of corruption, to the Houthi leaders to defend and acquit him, such as the Minister of Information in the coup government, Dhaifallah Al-Shami, and the Houthi Deputy Foreign Minister, Hussein Al-Ezzi.
