The First Thunderbolt Brigade in the southern forces in Al-Dhalea governorate fought fierce battles with the Houthi militia when they launched a violent attack in the Qataba district, north of the governorate.
A military source said that the southern forces responded, at dawn on Monday, to a violent attack launched by Iran's arm towards the "Battar" region, southwest of the Qataba district.
According to the source, combat units of the First Thunderbolt Brigade backed by the Southern Resistance clashed with militia elements, which attacked under heavy fire cover from the BMB.
The source pointed out that a miserable attempt by the Houthi militia to penetrate the defenses of the southern forces in battles that lasted for more than two hours, in which various types of weapons were used by both parties.
He indicated that the superiority of the southern forces on the ground forced the Iranian arm to withdraw towards its positions after it suffered heavy losses and suffered many dead and wounded.
