Aden, NewsYemen:

On Monday, Major General Yahya Al-Shami, who is considered the military mind of the Houthi group, died in Sana'a, as he had been infected with the Coronavirus.

Medical sources stated that the prominent Houthi leader, Yahya Al-Shami, died more than a month after his infection with the emerging virus.

Yahya al-Shami is the 11th wanted person on the list announced by the Arab Coalition in November 2017, which includes 40 Houthi leaders, headed by the militia leader, Abdul-Malik Al-Houthi.

Al-Shami was assigned by interim President Abd Rabbo Mansour Hadi to head the Army and Security Restructuring Committee, in what was known as the Comprehensive National Dialogue Conference, and he was the architect of the plan to dismantle the Yemeni army, especially the Republican Guard brigades.

The death of Major General Yahya al-Shami comes a few days after the burial of his wife and son Zakaria al-Shami, who was the Minister of Transport in the unrecognized Houthi government.
