The US State Department said that there is a fair deal on the table that will bring immediate relief to the Yemeni people.

It added in a press release, Friday, regarding the results of the visit of the US envoy to Yemen Tim Lenderking to both Saudi Arabia and the Sultanate of Oman: The Houthis missed a great opportunity to demonstrate their commitment to peace and to make progress on this proposal by refusing to meet with the United Nations Special Envoy Griffiths in Muscat, especially Given the declared readiness of the Government of the Republic of Yemen to reach an agreement to end the conflict.

It accused the Houthis of exacerbating the humanitarian situation, saying: Contrary to their statements regarding the humanitarian situation in Yemen, the Houthis are making it worse by continuing to attack Marib and exacerbating the harsh conditions of internally displaced Yemenis, who are already vulnerable.

The US State Department stressed that all parties should communicate with the special envoy of the United Nations and address the proposal on the table for the sake of the Yemeni people, especially with the increasing international consensus and momentum towards ending the conflict in Yemen without further delay.
