Taiz, NewsYemen:

A military leader of the Muslim Brotherhood in Taiz governorate, linked to Al-Qaeda, vowed to liquidate human rights activist Abdul-Sattar Al-Shamiri, against the background of the latter's activity in exposing corruption of military and security leaders.

This threat came one day after Al-Shamiri published information and documents about the looting of large sums by security and military leaders of the Brotherhood, in the name of the martyrs and wounded in Taiz.

Al-Shamiri stated, on his Facebook account, that the Brotherhood leader, Adnan Ruzaiq, who was appointed commander of the so-called "Fifth Brigade Presidential Guard", affiliated with the organization, vowed during a meeting to liquidate him (Al-Shamiri's liquidation) upon his return to Yemen.

He also published a fatwa document of a Muslim Brotherhood leader named Salah Al-Sharabi, in which he incites the Brotherhood's militias on the "importance of killing Abdul Sattar Al-Shamiri," adding that Adnan Raziq pledged to implement it.

Al-Shamiri had previously received several threats of liquidation by military and security leaders of the Brotherhood in Taiz, against the background of his activity in exposing its violations, as well as exposing corruption and looting operations that affected huge sums in the name of "martyrs and wounded."

Al-Shamiri has been living outside Yemen for nearly three years after he was kidnapped and threatened with death by Brotherhood military leaders in Taiz.

Al-Shamiri works to unite prominent civilian leaders in a civilian bloc that leads protests and demonstrations against the corruption of the Brotherhood, which controls the army and security in the governorate.
