Aden, NewsYemen:

The French embassy in Yemen called on the Houthi militia in Yemen to abandon the military option and the ceasefire, while the US State Department considered the militia's escalation a flagrant disregard for the safety of civilians.

The French embassy issued a statement saying: "The security situation continues to deteriorate, and France calls on the Houthis to abandon the military option and a comprehensive ceasefire."

Earlier, the United States of America condemned the escalation of the terrorist Houthi militia on the Ma'rib fronts, stressing that "this escalation showed the Houthis' blatant disregard for the safety of civilians."

The US State Department spokesman, Ned Price, said in a statement, "The Houthis' actions have worsened the already dire humanitarian situation, and have caused the internal displacement of more Yemenis."

The international denunciation no longer deterred the Houthis, and they became more motivated to make more gains on the ground by force of arms, especially after they took control of Al-Bayda governorate and large parts of the governorates of Shabwa and Marib.

Observers described these calls as "anesthetic" as long as they were not accompanied by binding decisions for the Houthis to stop armed attacks and targeting areas crowded with civilians in Marib and the rest of the governorates throughout the years of war.And at the end of last week, the UN Special Envoy to Yemen, Hans Grundberg, called on the Houthis to stop the military escalation in the Marib governorate, without specifying a serious and explicit stance towards the militia, which was imposing a stifling siege on the residents of the Abdiya district for about a month, during which they prevented food and medicine from reaching them.

Grundberg said that the continuation of the fighting puts thousands of Yemenis in a difficult situation and leads to human rights violations, without announcing the party that caused this and imposing a stifling siege accompanied by missile shelling, drones and artillery shells on an almost daily basis.
