A prominent leader in the 35th Armored Brigade survived an assassination attempt with an explosive device, this morning, in the Al-Ma’afer district, south of Taiz governorate, central Yemen.

A local source told NewsYemen that Colonel Abdul-Basit al-Qadi, the communications Major General of the 35th Armored Brigade, survived an assassination attempt with an explosive device, today, in the south of the governorate.

According to the source, the explosion of the explosive device that was planted in the kit of Colonel Al-Qadi by unknown persons seriously wounded him, and caused the amputation of his foot, and soldiers and civilians were injured.

The assassination attempt on Colonel Abdul Baset al-Qadi coincides with the second anniversary of the assassination of his companion, the martyr Major General Adnan al-Hammadi, commander of the 35th Armored Brigade, by elements belonging to the Islah party, the branch of the terrorist Brotherhood in Yemen.
