Aden, newsyemen:

The spokesman for the southern forces in Abyan, Mohammed al-Naqib, said that brotherhood militias had not complied with the truce agreed earlier, under tribal mediation.

He said the militia, based in the coastal area of Shaqra, on Saturday accused the mediators of complying with the truce, adding that it had breached it on Sunday, stressing the southern forces' commitment to the ceasefire.

"The brotherhood militias' talk of a truce is totally contrary to their behavior on the ground and they have always violated the Riyadh agreement and sought to recruit him to wage war on Abyan and invade the capital Aden," al-Naqib said in a statement posted on his Facebook account.

He added: "At a time when our southern forces have continued until the moment to abide by the truce and position in the case of defense, the same terrorist brotherhood militias have not and will not abide by the truce that the mediators had imagined on Saturday that they would implement it and abide by it." "On Sunday morning, our forces were targeted by artillery fire, which led to the martyrdom of one of our heroes," he said.

The captain said: "We are with everything that will safeguard and preserve the interests of the people and allow them and their families the safety of movement and movement, especially on the days of Eid and all the time, and if we fought the battle to fight terrorism except to defend them from the crimes of aggression of the terrorist militias Brotherhood, which committed and continue many crimes of execution, kidnapping and enforced disappearance against our brothers in Shabwa and in areas still under their control by force of arms, terrorism and intimidation in Abyan province."

The tribal mediation committee, comprising tribal elders and social figures, announced yesterday a humanitarian truce to stop the fighting in Abyan province, between southern forces and Brotherhood militias, during eid al-Fitr and for three days.
