The Socialist Party calls for restructuring the army and condemns the targeting of activists in Taiz

The Yemeni Socialist Party called on the government to pay attention to the disastrous economic and living conditions in the country, and to provide serious solutions in this context, foremost among which is the payment of salaries of employees in all parts of Yemen, and the improvement of the level of public services.

The Socialist demanded the strengthening of the supervisory tools, devices and institutional mechanisms, such as the Audit and Accountability Authority and the Anti-Corruption Commission, stressing in this context the need to neutralize humanitarian fields and services from conflict, and to implement the principles of good governance in all state institutions.

In the meeting of the party secretariat in Taiz, the socialist called for serious measures at the level of rebuilding and restructuring the army and security establishment and drying up sources of corruption in all state institutions.

The meeting of the secretariat of the party organization in Taiz considered the optimum utilization of the ports and the fish sector as a real gateway to the solutions to the economic file crisis.

The Socialist demanded the liberation of the political decision from the intrusion of certain parties and centers of internal and external powers, and the strengthening and maintenance of the principles of consensus on the basis and legal and national standards, a fundamental issue in addressing the national issue.

The meeting stressed the importance of all parties' adherence to the contents of the outcomes of the comprehensive national dialogue, which affirms the representation of women in the government and in all public bodies and institutions, considering the exclusion of women and their non-participation in the government as an official approach that undermines the values and principles of citizenship.


The Socialist Party condemned the continued targeting of activists and activists in Taiz with incitement by some mosque preachers, the latest of which was the incitement campaign led by the imam and preacher of Al-Nour Mosque, Abdullah Ahmad Ali Al-Odaini, a member of Parliament against the press photographer Hamza Mustafa, a member of the Yemeni Socialist Party, and his wife Hanadi Anam.

The meeting considered that this incitement campaign comes as an extension of fatwas and incitement campaigns led by Al-Adaini against activists and civic activists, arbitrary religious texts and in an interpretive manner and methods that crowd religion in the face of public and private freedoms in a way that exacerbates the worsening security problem and societal peace.

A socialist, Taiz, called on the official authorities in the governorate to do their duty and take the necessary measures towards the sources of this incitement, to protect mosques and religious platforms from bad use against activists and activists, and to protect the public space from methods of threat, incitement and distortion.
